Why don't I see ClipDish in the Safari share sheet?
You need to enable the ClipDish extension first:
- Open ClipDish
- Follow the onboarding to enable the extension
- Or go to Settings → "Setup Browser Extension"
See Getting Started for step-by-step instructions.
Can I use ClipDish with Chrome, Firefox, or other browsers?

See Browser Support for more details.
Recipes & Collections
What's the difference between a recipe and a bookmark?
- Recipe: Successfully parsed with ingredients and instructions
- Bookmark: Just a link back to the website (parsing failed)
When ClipDish can't extract structured data from a webpage, it saves a bookmark instead. You can still open the link to view the recipe on the original website.
See Saving Recipes from Websites - Understanding Recipes vs. Bookmarks.
How do I organize my recipes?
Use Collections. You can create collections for:
- Meal types (Breakfast, Dinner, Desserts)
- Cuisines (Italian, Thai, Mexican)
- Occasions (Holiday Baking, Summer BBQ)
See Organizing with Collections.
Can I edit recipes I've saved?
Yes! All recipes are fully editable. Tap the pencil icons next to Ingredients or Instructions to make changes.
See Editing Recipes.
Can I scan recipes from cookbooks?
Yes! Use the Scan feature to take photos of recipe pages. ClipDish uses OCR to extract the text and format it into a recipe.
Can I create my own recipes from scratch?
Yes! Use the "Write a Recipe" feature to type or dictate a recipe. ClipDish's AI parses it into ingredients and instructions.
